Mount Tiscali hosts a peculiar archaeological site: a prehistoric village built inside a huge natural cave. It was built by the Nuragic civilization about 3500 years ago, possibly as a shelter against pillagers. The village resisted even the Roman conquerors but was destroyed by the collapse of the cave vault.
Starting from the Lanaitto valley we will walk less than 2 hours to reach the cave and enjoy a guided tour of what remains of the village. From the top of the mountain we will enjoy a superb view of the valley below and explore some of the secret passages that were once used to enter the village.
The trekking to Tiscali is one of the most popular in Sardinia, probably one of the shortest in Supramonte, but surely the one that can instil the magic feelings of Sardinian wild nature. Nowhere else the forests and the rocky mountains can create such an inspiring frame.
